The Black Book

The Black Book (Hindi) tells the story of Galip who is a lawyer in Istanbul. One day after returning from work, Galip notices that his wife Ruya is missing. He is unclear if she has disappeared or whether she left on her own accord. He sets off to find her and thus begins the mysterious story of The Black Book.Galip tracks down his half-brother Celal after finding reasons to believe that his wife might be with him. He however notices that Celal too is missing, which further intensifies the plot. Galip begins to take over Celal's life by living in his house and even taking up his job as a columnist. He encounters strange people from Celal's life which further complicates Galip's life and the story at hand.The Black Book delves into ideas about identities and one's quest for answers and satisfaction. This book was published by Penguin India in Hindi in 2012 and is available in paperback.
