Dodge Mercer has lead the life of a gunslinger. Hungry for the quiet life, he drifts west looking for a chance to build a spread of his own. He decides on the rugged, dangerous Tonto Basin country of Arizona, and is welcomed to stay and work with the Lilley clan. Nan Lilley is the most beautiful woman Dodge has ever seen. In his quest for her love, he runs up against tough, two-fisted Buck Hathaway, who claims Nan for his own. When Nan chooses Dodge, Hathaway takes the rejection hard and it's the catalyst for a blazing feud - Dodge and the Lilleys against the Hathaways.
