In 2004 in a possible universe, the DOE's Superconducting Supercollider has been constructed in Waxahachie, Texas and is beginning operation, making unintended trans-dimensional signals that are being received in other universes and are attracting the attention of powerful and intelligent aliens, benevolent and hostile.
