1. Ancient Monuments
2. Places of Worship
3. Natural Wonders

6. Living Landmarks
As readers will discover, the complex history of the world often defines where – and how – spirituality can be found. Croft's (50 Years of Glastonbury) guidebook of the planet's spiritual places is broken into straightforward sections: "Ancient Monuments," "Places of Worship," "Pilgrimages," "Natural Wonders," "Centers of Enlightenment," and "Living Landmarks." Each listing begins with key points of the site: country, visitors per year, when it was built or created, ideal months to visit, and varying facts on size and religious affiliation, if relevant, along with a regional map highlighting the location and geographic coordinates. For each site, there's also a three-quarter-page description of its history, with major facts, little-known oddities, UNESCO World Heritage status, and what makes it special or spiritual. Inspiring photos are included for each. Many of the sites will be familiar to readers, though anyone can likely discover a new spiritual place or glean insight into one they already know. VERDICT This is a quick-reference guide for anyone looking for somewhere to travel for a variety of spiritual experiences. It is also fun to page through, enjoying the photos, and learning about instantly recognizable sites around the world.--Zebulin Evelhoch
